About Mighty Mainframe 2026

How it started and what it has to do with QED

Why Mainframe Conference?
Mainframe topics have long been an important part of enterprise IT architecture. Our goal is to shift the discussion from upgrading legacy systems to building future-proof infrastructure, positioning the mainframe as a flexible, powerful, and forward-looking foundation for AI transformation. That’s why we created the Mighty Mainframe conference.

How It Started?
The Mighty Mainframe Conference was inspired by the newsletter of the same name, created by CROZ board member Kresimir Mudrovcic. Acknowledging the past isolation of mainframes, the newsletter highlights the current shift in focus—where organizations seek to maximize the benefits of mainframe technology while seamlessly integrating it into modern enterprise frameworks.

That’s why we created a conference-within-a-conference: merging Mighty Mainframe with QED to bridge the gap and foster deeper integration between Mainframers and the BizTech community.

What's New in 2026?
And what's a better year to talk about the synergy of Mainframers and the BizTech community than 2026, when the main QED theme is Collective? As AI reshapes the way we think and work, even the mainframe is not immune – it’s becoming a crucial part of the AI-powered ecosystem, from intelligent automation and observability to new data-driven services. And we have to learn how to adapt.

At Mighty Mainframe 2026 we’ll continue to talk about mainframe modernization and the skills gap, as we believe these are the hottest topics in the mainframe community right now .
